"Well boys and girls, as you get older you begin to think about the past more and it's sad to move on from "the good old days" when it was so so simple, no bills, no drama, no fuss, each day was a new adventure and that's what being a kid is all about."
S'appening!
Hope all is well. Now, you see the title, it's obvious what this is about but I'm not about to do a full review on this film, I not a film critic. I'm just here to show my appreciation, so don't worry, there's no spoilers here.
So where do I start? Well lets rewind back to 1996. Some of you reading this may not have even been born! However, I was just a kid, 10 years old to be exact when Toy Story was released here in the UK. I don't actually remember where I saw the film but I do remember watching it and thinking whoever made this film has read my mind, because I actually believed that my toys came to life when I left the room….I still do! :D What pixar created was genius! Not only taking animation to the next level but capturing everybody's imagination.
Next up was Toy Story 2 and once again, genius! This came out 4 years later and I have to admit, I didn't see it until last week, crazy eh! I think it may have been the hype of Toy Story 3 which gave me a kick up but to get a move on a watch it. It reminded me of what a great film the original was and of course I was equally impressed with this one at the age of 24.
I guess this what I'm getting at and I just wanted to share it with you all. If we flick to the last 10 minutes of Toy Story 3 it was quite obvious that a fair amount of adults in the cinema were quite teary eyed, including myself actually! But why though? It's a film about toys!!
Well boys and girls, as you get older you begin to think about the past more and it's sad to move on from "the good old days" when it was so so simple, no bills, no drama, no fuss, each day was a new adventure and that's what being a kid is all about.
Well what Pixar has created with Toy Story is pretty amazing. Remember when I said it captured everybody's imagination? Well that never left those people and no matter what age they were then and are now, they came back for more and it shows that we all have a strong connection to our childhoods. I guess only the 80's and young 90's babies will understand what I'm talking about so for the rest of you….you're left with 3 amazing animations to enjoy!
3 out of 4 ain't bad though I guess!
Thanks for reading, take it easy!
