NIKE news & Air Football Do me proudMarch 30th 2009
"I came across a team who wasn't colour co-ordinated one bit so I asked if I could help them out. They were up for wearing the T-Shirts and we agreed to follow their progress throughout."
So if you read my last blog entry you'll know that NIKE got in contact and wanted me to do some filming. Let me tell you lovely people what happened then.

So it was a good weekend. Jonny (JDM525.net) came down with his Sony FX1 and we filmed 5 "Chavs opinion on" episodes, the first of which you can see in the videos section now! That was the Saturday.

On the Sunday we made our way down to Powerleage in Fairlop, Ilford to film the day. It was an interesting day with lots of good skills, goals and banter flying around the place, most of which Jonny managed to get on film.

I was told to capture my view of the tournament so I mapped out what I wanted the video to look like in my head which consisted of an interview with me on what football is to me, lots of questions questions to the players and then lots of footballing action. We managed to get 2 lots of it done but unfortunately the interviews with the players didn't happen as things were so fast paced they never stopped for a break.

So when it came to the final edit there was a big chunk missing. Nike however loved it and said that they pay guys to produce this sort of stuff and mine was much better which was a compliment to me and Jonny. I'll try and get that video up on here soon for you guys to check out. Nike arn't going to use it because it's not something I'm keen on.

Something else I discovered: There's a not just one type of presenting. During my time at the Nike Tournament I found that I felt a little bit like a reporter or an interviewer and it's something I hate! I don't find it entertaining in the slightest. I'm an entertainer and I want my content to make people smile and laugh and this just wasn't that.

Nike have asked me to return to the rejional finals at the end of April to shoot a video so I'm hoping Jonny can make it down from Wales again to help me with that. I've already started mapping out the video and making sure I have more fun and that I'm the presenter, the one in control, it's my video and your coming with me. None of this news reporter stuff, it doesn't suit me.

Before I end this long entry I wanted to quickly go back to the Nike Tournament we attended in Fairlop. I went there hoping to "Re-Brand" a team and promote myself at the same time so we get some "Smivadee" TShirts printed especially for a team that fancied wearing it in the tournament.

I came across a team who wasn't colour co-ordinated one bit so I asked if I could help them out. They were up for wearing the T-Shirts and we agreed to follow their progress throughout.

I suddenly had a team to cheer on. They were called "Air Football" The story behind this is quite nice because they work on getting people who have lost their way to drugs, drink etc back into the community which is really cool. (something I did a few years back as a voluntary support worker)

The guys did me proud, I picked a diamond in the rubble because it was them who went on to win the whole tournament fighting of some really stiff competition. You can see them pictured above and we all pose doing the "A" sign which stands for Air Football.

Thanks for being good sports guys and good I'll be seeing you at the finals in London.

As for the rest of you, I hope to keep you updated with more thats going on as it happens

Take it easy!!!!
